the old trusted trick of trawling through all the vids that are listed on youtube about fitting chains will provide food for thought.
a good quality chain tool is about £50 from motrax and always done me well. not sure about the cheap shite you see listed on ebay

I use that cheap shite off ebay and to be honest I've been pretty pleased with the results. Paid about £25 and it's been used about 5 times with fair results.

As for chain replacement...I took one of the links on the old chain on the bike off using a grinder and then easily split link, roll the old chain of the sprockets, undo the bolts of the rear sprocket, undo the front as per haynes instructions. Fitted new JT sprockets and new DID Xring gold chain 525 using a solid chain tool. All standard gearing for NC35. Not a hard job to do. The quality is superb.

I got a RK chain tool, got it from talon and its bob on. Spare parts available to. Cost about £80 i think
