that orange tube should go to the rear right cyclinder its the vacume pipe, check its not kinked, i know its daft but have you checked the fuel tap is on, or if it is you may of flooded the system possibly, not sure about all your pipes there, thinkin when i last got down to my carbs and removed air box the pipes i disconnected are ,, 1. the breather on top of tank, 2.fuel and vac pipes from tap, 3 the water drain pipe from the left side of airbox, 4. the 2 thick pipes from rear right of air box and the thick one from the top of rear cyclinder breather , just re check all the pipes and some silly simple stuff like you may of flicked the kill switch by mistake, try bumping it , general rule a little choke and no throttle

I've rechecked all the hoses and it all looks like how it was before I started.
Fuel is on and is flowing through the pipes.
I havent tried bumping it as I have no where to do it!! I live right next to a main road so will have to try that another day/night when its quiet.
If the engine is flooded, what are my options to unflood it?
I had this problem with my NSR when it was stood for a while. I ended up draining the float bowl and it started first time after I did that. Should I do the same?? I dont want to see my carbs ever again lol

As per the owners manual.. Crank it for 5 seconds with NO choke and the throttle FULL open, this will pull air through the bike and pull out the excess fuel.

Then leave it 5 mins.. choke fully open. absaloubtl NO throttle and crank it in 20 second burts until it fires.

They can be a right PITA to start after the carbs have been off.

to be honest i cant see why your having this prob, if the bike was running ok before, and everything is back as it was. the plugs on these bikes die very easily, turn the fuel off let it stand for a bit, then try start it with fuel off with no throttle,
im sure someone on here will give better advice on this what to do if flooded etc,
when i restricted my bike, carbs off, restrictors in, carbs on , fired up on the second push of the button with half choke and no throttle, if you open the throttle with choke it will flood and kill your plugs, last time i feared i flooded it a quick bump start failed but did have signs of life , then tried normal start and she barked into life ,see if you can whip out one of the rear plugs see if its soaked or not

I tried again this afternoon after work. Whipped the carbs out again and drained the float bowls. I feel like I can take them off and on with my eyes closed now. Properly? Well thats another question lol.
Im going to a bike shop tomorrow to get a set of new plugs and a tool to removed the bloody things.
What can I do to get rid of the petrol thats in the plug chamber thing to make sure the new plugs don't get too wet when I put them in?
What else can I do to make sure shes ready for the best possible start?
But to this point, still no luck. Tomorrows another day though

Just leave the plugs out overnight, and any fuel in the cylinders will evaporate.

Got her started up but she sounds different??
Im going to take the carbs rubbers out again and make sure the restrictors are in properly and double check the hoses.
Oh and whats the easiest way to tighten the clips around the carb rubbers at the front?? I can barely get to them

how does she sound diffrent from before , less raspy , revs hanging,?? best way on clamps is to position the front ones so you can get to them through the sides of the bike , if you look at dataracers guide at the top of the workshop thread you will see , glad she runs tho , good man

YEY! Shes all back together now. I think the different sound must have been the carbs not sitting properly
