I had the old style rcv seat unit on my bike last year, was ok but flexed allot cracking the plastic in places, my paintjob wasn't expensive but would have been gutted if i had spent a grand on it!! also the fixings holding the undertray together were a pain in the ass, they either fell out under vibration or broke under the flex stress, had to gaffer tape it up in the end! After a while i soon lost the love for it, even the look of it and have opted for the tyga 30-35 seat unit instead, much prefer the look and the fit is alot better, its quite thin, too thin if you ask me as theres still a slight flex issue but not enough to be a problem. hope that helps.

Tyga stuff's okay, mine was early generation stuff. Panel fitment was adequate - everything had to be spaced out to clear the rearsets/clipons, compromising control and there were some interesting gaps between some panels. Quality was okay but not brilliant (especially on the fake carbon tail section) -it felt like it'd shake apart over rough surfaces (cracks appear in paintwork and can spread), so added with the discomfort the seating position gave over stock, I was quite tentative to ride the thing. Ultimately, it had to go - I guess above the other problems I had, I didn't really like the look of it. It looked fine from certain angles, but from others looked disproportionate and quite ugly (scooter headlamps especially).

It certainly drew a crowd wherever I went, to the tedium of not being able to get off the bike before someone wanted to chat about the bike. Not for me thanks. Gavin's a helpful chap though and offers a quality service.

I had one, fitted it, didnt like it and sold it.

The stuff was fine but i just thought it looked silly, the bike is to small IMO to carry it off.

it does make the bike look physically larger, alot of people thought it was a new cbr600rr!! ill be honest, my panels didnt crack and generally felt quite solid, but i agree that some angles it looked a bit odd! but use loctite on the bolts/nuts etc as they do rattle loose.
im glad i done mine out like it but i wont do it again, it costs alot of money and that often did make me a little wary of giving it beans sometimes as even a small spill would really damage the fairings whereas my origonal honda ones are solid im looking forward to putting mine back to stock fairings but im glad i done it.....

right, after listening to what everyone has said im think im just going to buy the seat unit. at the end of the day is gonna be a race bike and ive enough to worry about with out thinking the fairing will rattle its self to pieces. ill go standard shape front and rc211v rear i reckon.

you thought about the lovely silouhette tail units based on the stock look ?

silouhette tail units based on the stock look ? not seen em mate, to be honest im not a big fan of the rear end as standard, however im open to suggestions.

Lol those words have haunted many after a short while and spending a wedge of cash.
Do a search for them, they are based on OE looks and the RWB NC30 89 model with a RVF style rear but in original colours is just stunning. However its your bike and cash, fill yer boots, but before you go flogging the old bits i would just hang onto them incase you decide to sell the bike later on.

i think it looks really good, but from what people have said about the fit and the feel that it might shake to pieces its putting me off slightly, only problem is i really like the look of it, and in my head thats what i want the bike to look like gonna have to make a decision soon mind. thanks to micks patience im picking her up tonight so ill start a thread once i start attaching all the bits and bobs.
