Hey everyone, I think this has been a really useful thread and it's interesting to hear everyones opinions. I'm suprised that a bike developed and officially sold in Japan who always had a high octane rating fuel that our 95 Ron seems to work as good if not better by reading some of your posts. That's good to know guys.

Thanks very much
Wayne

I'm going along with CMSMJ1. They were designed in Japan to run on 91RON fuel.

The compression ratio is hardly pushing it on stock bikes.

I agree despite using higher rated stuff when I can it seems that any old juice will do, so is there a gain at all, perhaps a cleaner engine, less emmisions etc for anyone using a higher octane?

I think the only gain you will get over standard 91RON is slightly better mileage on premium juice.

It all depends on cost though.

Probably the best juice for the engines is something that has lead in it! :scare:

this is interesting, ive always used regular in my '24 and the other week i gave it a dose of shell ultimate for a treat  . ran like crap tbh, the midrange flat spot was much worse and top end was far less :?

Well after reading this I cant wait to empty my tank of all that premium stuff and see if the cheaper stuff does make my bike run smoother, might even get rid of that flat spot low down I got, ya never know till you try.
