While all this was going on, through a mutual friend we got in contact with the guys at Mode Perfomance (http://www.modeperformance.co.uk/) who kindly supported us with some lush brembo products!!
These guys are great to work with, so don't hesitate to ring em up for your braking needs
They hooked us op with some full floating race discs, racing pads and another PR19 master cylinder.

Re: Belgian 3TJ hybrid for endurance racing.
So after making the most of the first spring evenings, we finished the paintwork...
I am honestly amazed at how cool the bike has turned out to be, which is an absolute bitch!
Originally we wanted a bike which we could afford to crash, but now with all the hard work we put in, we feel more like putting it in the living room and racing another bike

Re: Belgian 3TJ hybrid for endurance racing.
So that's the status up to date.
Some stuff that's left to do :
- Draw a new bracket for the (ex troy corser) brembo rear brake caliper.
- paint the front wheels white (i heard that adds another 10 bhp!!
... no, i just love white wheels)
- get the saddle modded by a professional once we found the correct height (currently we've added 5cm with foam)
- fit the techtronics quickshifter that's lying around here somewhere (need to fab a new adaptor plate for it)
Any comments or advice from you guys is more than welcome of course!!
If you want to follow our progress, i try to keep everything updated on facebook, just look for ivo sonck and shoot me a message.
Cheers!!
edit : I used the thumbnail function from photobucket as the pictures were too big to put here full size, but it seems they aren't working?! (i'm absolutely no computer guy
)
let me know if you can't get them to enlarge, and i'll try to modify them. Thanks!

Re: Belgian 3TJ hybrid for endurance racing.

that's really nice, you've clearly put in some work there.
unfortunately the pictures don't enlarge for me but I can still see what a nice job you've done there.

That's a really cool project and I've heard of The No Budget Cup through PB Mag. I did suggest they run a 3tj 600 hybrid but they already had a bike.
When is the race ???
No wonder you wanted bars above the yokes if you 6'5" !!! Did you put the fluid reservior nearer the middle of the the yokes so it doesn't foul the fairing ???

- 29/03 : Nurburgring F1 circuit (not the Nordschleife)
- 4/05 : Zolder (Belgium)
- 16+17/07 : Dijon (France)... that's a seriously fast f*cker, check out youtube
- 3/08 : Zolder
- 27/09 : Zolder
all info can be found on http://www.nobudgetcup.be/
The brake reservoir is a small brembo one. we shifted it a bit to the inside so that with the reduced steering lock it nicely pivots between the top fairing and the clocks.
We had to rotate the throttle cable housing though, as the cable guides were fouling the fairing. We'll see how the clearance keeps when theres air pressure pushing down on the fairing during riding.
I reckon the PB guys might be back, so let's hope we can prove them they've made the wrong choice of machinery

Here a link to Suspensionsmith's thread on PB Forum. He uses a 3TJ frame with a fireblade engine, but as the name suggests it's used as a suspension test bed. He also has a road 3TJ which he converted the forks to compression and rebound in different legs, which is interesting.
I might try and get over there for a race ... if I can get round all the usual reasons why not :)
