Cali - try and boost it using a jump lead to eliminate your battery issues.
These bikes are awkward sods...There is a knack to it though and it involves holding starter down and hoping.. :D

ah IC... I just installed a brand new battery this morning , so I dont think is the battery problem? I charged the battery overnight (12+ hours) with a battery tender. Here's the thing, when trying to start the bike the headlights will dim like theres not enough juice?

can you not turn the lights off? Or do they not go off when the starter is pressed?
what voltage is your new battery before you press the starter? Less than 12.8 is not too good.
If the reg rec was goosed you would get the lights getting brighter as you revved it as the unregulated voltage cooks the battery over 14.5 volts...
multimeter time mate

if the battery is new and corectly charged then yes should fire
unless the r/r is completely knackered then it may not
have a spare one i may part with off an nc24, same one though

got the bike to fire.. :D
when checking with a multimeter at 4000-500 RPM I get 13.6 Volts? Is that good enough? I thought it should be at least 14+.

Is not consistant ... tried to start the bike again and it wont fire. When pressing the starter the light will go dim like is not getting enought juice. I connected the battery to the battery tender again and will try to start it again later.
Bike turn off -- 12.34V
Bike turn on -- 11V
Seems like the battery is not keeping charge.

When turning the ignition on and the kill switch to run is it suppose to make a sound ( like a fuel pump)?

There shouldn't be any sound.
