Hey stripes,
Is this the 180kph limiter or the 53bhp 93 onwards limit? Use to fit a 1.5K ohm resistor to fix the 180Kh limit.

ok the resistor removes the limiter for the 112mph. but the revs are still limited by a soft cut limiter to prevent engine damage from over revving. the 53hp bikes were not restricted but slightly detuned not restricted

found the green/yellow wire on the cdi and took a look from cdi to connector. The green/yellow ones just hangs loose and isnt connected at all. Color of the gearselector is blue and goes into a connector where it is going blue further. When dismounted the connector...it wasnt able to start again and the neutral light was off. So took an ohmmeter and checked it.
When in neutral i did measure something (dont remember) but when in gears....i didint measure something at all?

Thats interesting, the 1990 SP Cdi i got on my B4 track bike gives about 1000rpm more than standard, so if they detuned the motor slightly did the 93 SP's still rev more but with the lower Hp? guessin they put a gopoff restrictor pipe in the collector and then down jetted. , somthing fairly simple knowing Suzi.
The blue wire is the neutral wire and the G/Y if conected to the bike will send different resistances for different gears to the cdi. I once wrote them all down for each gear and you may find that if its loose it is restricted all the time, depends on which side is loose and what is connected to the cdi.
Keep meaning to make a link up with a resistor for each of the first 4 gears and then run each one on the dyno to see if there are any power gains, will get a run soon so my try it.
Stripes- Do you know anything about the TPS on the SP as ive a spare SP cdi and mean to run it on the motor with TMR's on but this has no fitment for the TPS so unsure of its importance. I read on the Bandit site that the 1200 TPS can be set up and makes a ig difference to the bike- they got resistance figurs and Stuff!

Hi hunny's, may I have a blonde moment > can I suggest a tre? something my hubby has on his K1 GSXR600 and he mentioned it took restrictions off the brain of the bike to give it full power in all gears?....apparently K1 GSXR's have restrictions in 1st 2nd and third gears as a saftey measure?....But with this little tre gizmo it lifts them, possibly would work on a 400 too?...I dont know.

Hi K-Ann,
The TRE is a timing retard derestrictor that is made for a specific bike and prob would work on the 400 if available. They are used to take the factory retard out thats used to make the bikes emissions read lower- i think!!
Good sugestion tho.

the wire from the cdi needs grounding to the battery through a resistor to remove the speed limiter. the wire that it normally connects to can be left disconnected. the neutral light wire is left alone. the resister gives no extra power just prevents it cutting the revs at a certain point. i have now had a 76a on the dyno for in excess of 200 times doing bits so i can say what does and doesnt work now lol.

Stripes, Did you make your own resistor link up? Been using 1.5Kohm as it was the said way to go Many Years ago- gettin old, lol. But reading K-Ann's tre gets me thinking as if you measure the resistance in each gear it changes, so thre's a possibility that setting the cdi to 1st gear reading or 3rd could give different advance maps from the cdi.

from memory 1.5k is right. We tried with a variable resistor and after that nothing happened. So stayed at that. Anything less and you got but at higher revs! Although the 93 cdi had a few differences and a different switch with multiple readings. And 1.5k sorted it. You run a bandit motor don't you?

I run a VVC bandit with a ported 440 kitted motor and a Bandit'ish framed gk73A lol. Only the frame and tank are B4 and everthing else is 73A SP+ some SV650 bits. Had a couple of 76's in the past but raced a 73 along time back and got the B4 to run motors on the road and became a convertee. The VVC has a twelve pin cdi so you can run a SP cdi off the loom if theres no VVC on the motor, altho the cams are not interchangeable so a B4/73 head is needed. I got an old slabby in bits with a 76 motor but intend on fitting a ypvs motor when time/money allow. Have you heard of a CBR6 cam going in the 76? read a guy in USA had one fitted by his tuner but info from him was minimal.
