I would be very careful about pumping air into the fork-top valves as it is so easy to blow the seals

Must be me but I like the soft feeling of the bike, it's one of its characteristics.. when I jump on the ZXR it feels like im sitting on a rigid frame its that stiff! :D

yep, the disaster magnet i am, i've managed to funk the thread on the left hand fork top

Maybe the anti-dive isn't working. Or someone has put the fork internals into the lowers incorrectly.

might as wellbuy some second hand forks
i dont know how i managed it either, must be a special talent. i took the spacers out, added 10mm, went to put the top back on, pressing it down flat as poss while gently turning it. took a bit of pressure to get it pushed down enough to seat, must have been at a slight angle
threads not too bad,hopefully can repair it....

Maybe the anti-dive isn't working. Or someone has
put the fork internals into the lowers incorrectly.

If you jack the forks up / take the weight off them, it's a lot easier to compress the springs and screw the caps on
