Contacted yamaha today, each valve shim will cost me 8,16€ and I'll have to get all 8 for intake... And should I change the valve cover gasket? My old one seams fine but I don't know if it'll hold once it goes back on. Tryed a telescopic magnet today but had no luck, I'll have to drain the oil and remove the oil sump to get that little s*** from in there.

Try ringing around your local bike dismantler / wrecker. Often you can just swap the one you have for the right size and pay a minimual service fee. The shims dont wear out.

There aren't many around here and the ones that do exist sell forks tanks and complete engines. It would be really hard to find just the shims around here, still worth a try though. I'll see what I can find. Thanks.

As long as I have the carbs out I thought I'd give them a clean and found the rubbers are pratically all broken and dry. anyone know where I can get some? Called yamaha and there's no 'restoration/all new rubber' kit available. Is my only option trying to find similar ones at a plumbing/hardware store?

the carb to engine rubbers ... hard to find.

But try Thundercat ones - I don't know if they'll be the csame but they use a similar carb and engine block

Not the carb to engine ones. The ones between carbs that carry the fuel from inner to outter carbs and the ones in the middle, with the T piece that connects to the fuel line from fuel pump.
