culprit!!!!

spring catch is rooted and moves freely up and down. put a little wedge in the spring to hold in place put back on bike ta da no noise, no im not leaving in there just to see if it still has clearance enough, not a lot only about 3-4 clicks left.
but im now gonna track one down.
tensioner came off easy as two bolts and it drops out
Replacement isn't too hard if you are handy with a spanner. Align the timing marks, Break the existing chain, attach the new one to the old one, then turn the engine over and feed the new chain through.
sounds easy to do wrong though.
