No spare carbs, I have been looking on ebay and rang around the bike wreckers.Evilchicken0 wrote:Muck in the tank would be caught by the fuel filter ... I guess you can have a look at it and blow through it to see if it's blocked.
You don't have a spare set of carbs for comparison ???

Thanks taggy, but theres no fuel leaking out anywhere.Taggy wrote:the pipe that connects into the carbs from the tank i meant, could squirt fuel over carb looking like it's leaking?
the poor running after reserve could be crap from the bottom of the tank clogging things as the main fuel tube is higher than the reserve?
Yes going to flush out the tank tonight

Re: Bloody #$^%&# flooding problem!
thank fzrtim for the infofzrtim wrote:I used to have a similar problem with my fzr600. It mainly did it when i had a full tank of fuel. My main symptoms were that it was not too crisp when you fully opened up and if you left it for say 5 mins with a full tank it would be flooded when you started up.
In the end i took the carbs off and rigged up a test fuel tank (borrowed one of a kart). I connected the fuel tank to the carbs and raised it about a meter above the carbs and sure enough i found out which one was leaking.
After a thorough clean up i tested the carbs again, problem sorted. Its been spot on ever since!

Re: Bloody #$^%&# flooding problem!
The needle and seat in my carbs are the one piece float holder and seat.
The part number I have come up with is 3en-14186-00 for the 400.
600 uses the same kind of needle and seat (Pictures)

with the part number of 3en-14107-10-00
Anyone know if the 600 ones will fit the 400 ?

Relating to yesterdays Dying dead problem, I took the tank out today and found I had purchased 15LT of stinky water.
Went to the petrol station and they apologized and refunded my money an offered to fix the bike. so thats out of the way. Now back to my flooding issue.

Which model have you got?buzzawak wrote: No spare carbs, I have been looking on ebay and rang around the bike wreckers.
I have 400 3TJ carbs off the bike I converted to a 600 (except I changed the drain screws for inferior screwdriver only ones so I had hex heads on my 1000).
Also, the float assemblies are the same as FZR1000 EXUP and I have a set of carbs for taking bits off on those

Got to be good for a garage cleaning and seting up the carbs, while they're at it ask them what's causing the flooding.buzzawak wrote:Relating to yesterdays Dying dead problem, I took the tank out today and found I had purchased 15LT of stinky water.

Re: Bloody #$^%&# flooding problem!
3 cheers for me!
I think I have solved the flooding problem. After closer examination of the float needle seat body the
rubber seal on one carbi was looking a bit flat. So reseated them with some gasket cement. Have taken the bike for two rides and so far so good.
