Two almost new tyres (less than 2000kms old) Battleax BT92r on the rear Battleax BT090 on the front
Powder coated white wheels in good condition (some slight scratching round the rim of the front one from the tyre fitters)
recently had a new R/R and new battery
recent front discs and pads with braided hoses
recently overhauled caliper (could do with a new rear disc in the future)
had two oil changes in the time I have had it (over 4000kms)
brake fluid changed and generally serviced in the time I have had it (such as rad flush etc)


Bad points ! (will try and list everything)
rear number plate corner has been melted slightly (will get a picture) not really an issue as I was expecting to get myself a smaller number plate but its best to mention it)
two small dents in the tank and two bubbles in the paint (new tank ideally both happened in a low speed drop)
front right upper fairing has some cracking and needs replacing to fit with the top fairing (from same low speed drop )
Chain went very tight, I have no loosened it up but you will need a new chain and sprocket (other people have been saying they start to go tight bind and kink when too old which seems to be what happened to me)

Thats about it But If I think of anything else I will add it and put a similar add up on ebay

(The tape is to hold the damaged piece to the top fairing, it hasnt damaged the top fairing which is brand new its only that panel that needs replacing if you could find one, or you could replace the whole set

loosen the pinch bolt and adjust the eccentric chain adjuster to get the chain slack.
then douse the chain in parrafin/kerosene/diesel and get at it with the tooth brush, with the chain really slack go through each chain link and work them to make sure every one is mobile. i only did this myself with the 6 yesterday.

I cleaned the chain not long ago but Ill give it another go :)

Bit of an update, took the front sprocket cover off, it looks fine from what I can tell, not mangled teeth look fine and it turns ok, Cleaned the chain up and it turns far more easily, the clicking is coming from the rear hub and its exactly the same noise as the front bearings were making so I think it must be the rear hub bearing thats gone? does that sound about right?

Can you unhook the chain and see if it still clicks when you spin the wheel?

Bit of a ballache mate. It is a nice bike, be a shame to flog it in a huff...

well to be honest I was going to sell it anyway, I'm down to a three day week at work now so I am now back at home, that and the fact I have to pay for the company van as well just means I cant justify keeping it, (I was going to keep if for a month or so more but this has meant I am going to sell it early) It really is a ballache since its going to reduce the price, What would it mean if it still clicked with the chain off? It still clicks when its very very loose

If the chain is off then you know that it is the hub that is at fault. The chain on it, loose or not, could be clicking.

It does sound like the hub though and it is not a major hassle to sort it..but I hear you man on the job front. I may get made redundant on the 11th Dec...but I'll not sell my bikes..lol

the thing is I have to pay tax on the works van because I use it for personal use, so I have no choice on that front so its the bike that has to go £800 sound like a fair price? I paid nearly double that but obviously it has issues it didnt have when I bought it now

The rear-hub bearings are a bit of a pain. Theres a doubly Koyo bearing which is abuot £60 ! and theres the needle roller which is also pricey.

DSS sometimes keeps the double one in stock for cheaper (£30.00) ish.

from memory there Koyo 6908RS joined together with a plastic clip. The plastic joiner is whats not common, the actual bearing you can get for a fraction of the price of the honda one.

Bear in mind that the honda one is slightly different with the plastic joiner, but i dont see why using two of the above wouldn't work fine.
