i understand what has gone wrong...spoken to graeme france...i need to replace the plastic tray with the rubber flap that comes out above the top radiator...im creating turbulant air going to the airbox when it should be still air.

im having a very similar problem with my NC30. At about 6000 revs everything goes very grotty, not very much power until it gets through these revs. I had this problem at about 4500 revs, and ran a tub of carb cleaner through with the petrol which seemed to sort it out for a little while, but now the problem is back and higher in the revs. my top speed hasnt been effected, but it seems iv lost power slightly throughout low revs, worst at 6000, then fine as it gets past it.
Any advice you may have on this would be great? The bike is overdue an oil change, but i cant see how this would effect it. The only modification the bike has is derestriction from the jap restrictor. I havnt played with the carbs or anything.
I dont know if riding the bike may make things worse. shes only done 22000 kilometers so i cant believe it could be anything too serious, unless there has been gross ignorance thrown in from previous owners.
