Wheel bearings either work or don't. If thye are knackered then you will know 100% it is they that are at fault.

Head bearings can feel OK when pushing the bike about and it handles OK but even slightly loose and you can imagine the forces through them at speed when you hit the brakes.

:o last night when i was riding it vibrated so much at the front end, my fork stem plug actually came out! lol.

Luckily i live 2 miles from Rick O so he soon sorted me out with a lovely polished item

Hi all,

I also suffer from this "juddering" problem whilst on the brakes.

I know it's not discs etc cos I replaced mine with Galfer Wavy discs. I also know it's not the head racer bearings either as had them checked.

From the previous posts on this subject I guess that leaves dodgy wheel or wheel bearings? Is there anything else it could be?

Dave.

It is happening to your bike matey - what do you think it is? ;)

It might be in your head....too many mushies and kerblammo...the world is juddery :pmsl:

You can test pretty much all of the options so get your bike out and get checking.

does it happen low speed? high speed? big clunks? little clicks? rumbling noises? vague steering? rusty dust on the hubs?? loose mudguard?

If I knew what the problem was I wouldn't have posted!!!

It happens at all speeds but seems worse at low low speeds.

By juddering I mean it seems like the brakes are almost being pumped. Almost like on, off, on, off. I'm sure you get the picture. I know my discs aren't warped as I upgraded them and the issue was still there.

Please help!!!

Have you had your wheels painted? The discs must not be flat on the wheel? take them off, clean it all up and reinstall them.

Slow speed on/off is going to be the brakes.... for my 20p 8-)
