If your just looking to upgrade use a pair of Dyna coils with posh HT leads and plug caps.

I doubt anybody would notice a difference at ilde. Coils tend to break down at high revs where there's a "blurring" to the engine. That's to say the spark is slightly weaker and advaced / retarded due to the recovery time of the coil. Better coils can recover and discharge faster with a more intense spark. The HT leads and caps may have a lower resistance ...all of which adds to a better burn of fuel which will mean a 1-2% difference in power at the top end.

But if your bike's running ok then it's really not worth the cash as a mod.

Coils break down slowly and the figure I remember being banded around was that if the original coils were still on the bike at 20k miles, you would probably have a power loss of around 10%. The modern 'coil pack' type are a lot more efficient and last better. Not a straight forward swap though.

More interesting dinodelta, Coils are now back on my to do list.
