Carb Drain Screws - need to replace the washer each time?
Hiya All,
Wow, NC29 - I took the air duct covers off, and there a these fab holes in the frame, so I can get a long srew driver in to drain the Carbs! This will be very useful for Home DIY basic winter storage prep.
...however, The Haynes manual says that the Drain Screw Washers need to be replaced each time though.
2 questions:
1) Is this true, or Haynes being overly cautious? (I'm hoping that the washer would be goof for replacing after 2 or 3
goes.... I can do it then, when giving bike service. Ie the carbs can come off, and I can get to the Washers alot easier then.)
2) can the Washers be replaced with the Carbs still fitted? Or would it be too fiddly??
hope you can advise
Cheers
Martin

I think you're right on the money there!marty400 wrote:The Haynes manual says that the Drain Screw Washers need to be replaced each time though.
Haynes being overly cautious?
I think I would have drained the carbs on my nc30 racebike at least 30 times in the last 2 years alone... no washer renewed.
