tci cover

Post by buzzawak »

Hi all
Just replaced the regulator/rectifier with a nice new 35amp one and figure I should check the condition of the TCI.
Any one know how to get the cover off the TCI without damaging the cover ?

Thanks

Hi Evil, Yes and No, The fzr has a TCI (Transistor Controlled Ignition)
not a CDI (Capacitive Discharge Ignition) but basically the same thing.

The magic black box.

From these guys but I can't say if they're ok or not so it would be your risk. I think you'd need to give them your CDI as exchange though.

Your probably better fitting a kmh / mph converter - Rocker Ted I think has one for sale on the forum. It has to be Gold one that sit's at the bottom of the cable

I came across a website recently were they can mod you tci or you can buy a modded one and I think they are based in Czech Republic. I will see if I can find the info again
