2009 season review, Banzai Racing
10 meetings, 60 races + practice sessions, a couple of track days and apart from me throwing it down the track 3 times the FZR has not missed a beat!
Its been my first full season and 4 years since the last time i raced but im well chuffed with the results. 4 race wins, countless top 3 finishes and from August ive been riding with a broken ankle, scaphoid and snapped wedding ring finger (which went down well with the mrs especially as we got married in September and she couldnt get the ring on over my lumpy finger in church).
I was a bit off the pace in the last couple of meetings thanks to an engine that was loosing power by the lap (its well due a re-bore) and the fact that ive put on over a stone in weight (last time i go all inclusive on holiday).
2009 results:
Auto 66 Rookie 400 champion
Auto 66 Formula 400 2nd (missed out by 1 point)
Auto 66 Formula Lites 3rd
Plans for next season are already in motion Leo Aldersley will be treating my No1 engine to some new pistons and even more tuning and as soon as the engine in my spare bike has had a mild tune ill get on with refreshing it ready for a winter of cheap trackdays.
It looks like 1 of 3 clubs for 2010, NG, New Era or Wirral and maybe a few Aintree meetings thrown in. (opinions invited)
As soon as i decide on a club and which tracks i need to practice ill book some track days and post them up should anyone fancy a ride out.
