Anyone around my area know anything about carb balancing/syn

Post by rich1988 »

Prompted by neosophist kind offer to balance/sync my carbs (sadly he is three hours each way from me!) for me I am just wondering if there is anyone within about an hour of the swindon/marlborough area that I can travel to that would be able to do it/show me how to (I dont have the neccesary tools at the moment)

I realise it might be a bit cheeky I just thought it would be nice to actually learn how to do it hands on rather than just take it to a garage (which I will do if noone comes foward) and its always nice to meet forum members!

Obviously I will offer some sort of compensation whether its beer or some beer tokens

thanks :)

sorry rich i didnt read all your post , if you dont get anyone local then give greg a try , it is a bike workshop so you will get charged but im sure you wont pay over £50 and it would be money well spent , a mate at my work used to race sometime ago and his dad used to work with greg at missen , greg is an old chap (prob approaching retirment) he told me to go see him as he is a wizard especially with hondas and theres not much he dosnt know, he told me alsorts of stuff i didnt know , and bits and bobs of good info regarding the valve and shims etc, i know just about anyone with a carbtune can do it but it was nice to know that some one with a bit of racing history and 40+ years as a motorcycle mechanic has set up my bike, it gives you a little peace of mind if you know wot i mean  also he was quite happy for me to hang around and watch as he did it , rather than buggering off and coming back a bit later to have it done ,

Given him a ring, going to take it down so he can have a listen and decide what needs doing!
