blown globe

Post by buzzawak »

One of my head light bulbs has blown on the 3en2, so me thinks its a good time to think about illumination upgrades.

I like the look of the twin head lights so I want to retain them but improve the colour and brightness.
What do people recommend ?

Fit the unit from a FZR1000 Exup - they look the same but have H4 bulbs. The 3en2 bulbs are a Yamaha only thing.
You might be able to get an H4 to fit your lights by modding the holders but the changing the unit is easier.

Oh - check the wattage of the originals you may need to use some relays so you don't fry the wiring

It seems the Yamaha globes are p45 and the locating flange can be taken off and put on h4 globes.
found a mod of it on a VDub site.

just type that in on the bay (or copy n paste).

Hi Q007,
90/100W is a big jump from 35/35W/ Did you have any problems with the wiring getting hot ?

Remember Yamaha have their own bulb fitting to these 400's so get the FZR1000 exup lamps first - they should be H4. If you want to use HID after that then you'll be able to get a bulb that will fit.
