Building a racebike. Advice and parts wanted.

Building an FZR400 3EN2 racebike, and am looking for some parts and/or advice.

Work done so far is:
modified R6 headers and link pipe, and removed EXUP
Gilles rearsets (taken from my Thunderace and modified to fit)
BB Plastics race fairing (one off from modified 3TJ moulds)
braided hoses
My tasklist for between now and next season involves rebuilding and blueprinting my spare engine, and sorting the suspension, which is where I'm looking for some info.

Front end:
Currently, it's running on stock suspension, other than some heavier forkoil. I believe the Thundercat forks fit, pretty much straight on, but can I find any? no chance.

Are there any other fork or front end combinations that fit without screwing up the geometry?

Rear end:
The 3EN2 has the 18" rear wheel which is limiting my tyre choice. I've got a wheel from a 3TJ, which is the more popular 17", but it's too wide for the 3EN2 swingarm due to the lack of the cutouts. What 17" rears can I get to fit, or would a 3TJ swingarm fit the 3EN2 frame? What shocks are compatible, or shall I just send off my original one to Hagon and get one built?

I've been putting off finishing this build for too long, and now that I've got a bit of cash for the project, I'm keen to get it going.

ive seen r6 forks on 3tj race bikes so im sure you could put a set of them on and would be easy 2 get hold of a set aswell only thing is ther a bit longer than the standard fzr ones so you have 2 have them threw the yokes a bit.

If you change the forks them I think you'll need the wheel too. The spindle is bigger dia on the T'Cat, R6. You might conside the YZf750 too - this will give you 320mm disks which may make it a bit "overbraked"

The 600R foxeye and FZS Fazer (early) also use a 41mm RWU fork

The 3TJ 17inch rear wheel will fit in the 3EN2 swingarm. I beleive UniqueFZR has his in already, and i am finally getting there. Just need to get the brake calpier mount sorted.

I've got a 3TJ rear wheel, and it's quite a bit wider than the 3EN2 model.
I'll revisit it as it has been over a year since I looked at it, but I don't remember there being any easy ways of making it fit.

I think we found some 3en2 swingarms are wider than others, not by much but it's enough.

If the wheel doesn't fit and your confident with a bit of cutting here and there you can fit the 3TJ swinger into the 3en2 frame. You need to take a bit off it cos it's wider than the 3en's arm.

The 3TJ uses a 160 profile which will work with a 120 front but isn't great with the standard 110 of the 3en2. You might be better off looking for a frame and swinger from a TJ (???)

Considering I'll most likely have an R6 front end on it, it'll probably be a 120 that's fitted anyway.

I might see if I can find a TJ swingarm, or else, I might see if I can machine a bit out of the 3EN2 swingarm to accomodate

i have a spare TJ swing arm sitting here if you need it also have a few other bits and bobs if you need anything have TJ forks aswell.

we built my m8s race bike 3en2 with foxeye 600 forks etc just transplanted whole front end everything was easy ,he says it handles spot on,rear we modded a zxr400 item.
