Are my forks Totally stuffed?
Striped down my fork today because I am getting the tubes hard chromed because the pitting is beyond the sandpaper treatment.
The left fork leaks and the the forks dive badly. I think I have found out why.
The picture is of the bottom end of the tube. You will notice the nylon ring is broken.
I can't see anyway of repairing or replacing this ring. ( Ithink I am rooted)
I have a basic understanding on how the dampening of the suspension works.
Question:1
I am having troubles getting my head around which valve does what?
Most explanations show the basic function of the valve (holes) on the damper rod.
Does the valve in the fork tube operated on the upward stroke and the damper rod on the down
ward stroke?
Question:2
Would a cartridge emulator provide a solution or does the cartridge emulator still require
the damper valve in the fork tube to be operational.
Question:3
I am open to all ideas?
P.S
I live in Australia so
A) Its near impossible to get a pair of second hand replacement forks (If that's what your thinking)
B) I have been quoted $600 for a pair of crappy Fzr600 ones and have to wait a month for them to arrive.

Re: Are my forks Totally stuffed?
Looks like my only option is a set of used forks from the states.
Just have to figure which one are a straight fit.
Shit I am bleeding money on this bike, but I love my fizzer!
Update, I need some help knowing which forks will fit (straight swap).
The fork outers are stamped T2 on them and the tube are 38mm.
Brake calipers are the 4 piston variety.
Can someone tell me which models and years from the 400 and 600 will be the go?
Thanks again

Re: Are my forks Totally stuffed?
Hello there
I have s good set of forks from a 3EN1 FZR400 available if you still need them. I have shipped to Oz before using Fedex and it only takes 5-7days. I have pics available if required.
Cheers Griff
