Banzai racing - the latest

Post by KIYOSHI »

Long time no update.

Last time i posted i had just totalled the bike at Cadwell in the formula 400 points race and retired from formula lites on the spare bike, no points scored

Got the bike rebuilt in time for the next round at Elvington on the 2nd August.

Had a good morning winning the 1st Formula 400 race but struggled against some quick 250gp's and sv650's. Had a big off in the 3rd race of the day whilst trying to avoid a back marker, hit a straw bail, went over the bars and to cut a long story short........Compound fracture of wedding ring finger (not good i get married on the 12th sept and now my ring does not fit!!!) Very badly injured rist and left foot/ankle.
Missed the next Formula 400 race but the bike was basically undamged and i got out for the 3rd Formula lites race (champoinship points) and rode through the pain and finished somewhere mid pack.
I got my head together for the last race of the day (formula 400 championship points). Put the pain and swollen limbs to one side and rode to a very good 2nd. Well pleased.

Cadwell Aug 9th.

A best of 2 4th's and a 6th in the Formula 400s (Still leading championship but not sure by how far). Pretty good considering i only got off cruthces wednesday and my left hand is something akin to the elephant man!

Struggled in the Fromula lites with a best of about 7th but there were at least 5 very fast 250gp bikes.

The bike did not run at its best all day with a few flat spots appearing before it started cutting out on the 7th lap of the last race and i coasted over the line in 10th at about 5mph with 105oC on the digi dash!

Suspected head gasket or coil, i'll investigate this wk and report back.

Alex #16 Auto 66.
