Run with TPS unplugged ?

Yes. Read this from yeurman: Remember, even though its wired to the ECU, its not needed and removing wont affect the performance of the bike (well not at least on a HRC ECU) I've just cut them off. Col

The CDI for both HRC and standard does use the TPS. The 3D map is actually quite complex especially on the HRC CDI. However if you leave it unplugged it defaults to the Lowest advance curve which is the FULL Throttle curve. cheers

tk - if you were to apply a single setting to the tps, is there one you would recommend?

ie, it defaults to the FULL throttle setting with no input, would (based on what you have discovered) you recommend a particular setting for the race track? Assuming full throttle isnt the one you'd recommend!

i spoke to harley at RB Imports a few months back about this and he said that on the dyno there was no difference between having it pluged in or unpluged. i assume he tested the tps to make sure it was working.

The dyno doesn't take into account throttle response at various revs though, which is what the tps is for.

The hrc loom uses the tps, that would be enough to persuade me to use it.


@greggo: you can get a tps for the fcr's, probably a bit of a cash though!
