DASMSEL IN DISTRESS! Knowledge required !!!!!!
Hi everyone. I have recently bought an FZR400 3EN1 & LOVE IT!!!!
Only problem I have is it's a bit head down arse up for lil me so I want to streetfighter it.
I have bought a clip on bracket from ebay that goes over the yokes??? correct me if wrong.
I want to put risers on & fit some renthal bars to it that my friend gave to me but I have no idea what im doing. It has been mentioned that I may need to change the front headlight bracket to allow for the new bars, which is what I want to do anyway as the front nose cone is very tatty & new one's are stupid money. If anyone could offer me some advice I would be most greatful, I am learning as I go & want the satisfaction of doing it myself. Im quite good with a spanner as I fix & changeover machines @ my place of work. Im just lacking a bit of technical know how. Any help much appreciated, Thanks Guys x.

i have streetfightered my bike but its a nc23 to put the renthal bars on i bought some risers of a xjr1200 then drilled the top yoke and bolted them on you may need to extend your brake lines and clutch cable and the accelorator cables normally need re routing so they fit. with the lights it depends what type of light you want to use some if you are putting twin lights on you can also get brackets for your forks and its just a case ov bolting them on its quite easy to do the whole front end

If you love the 3en1 why do you want to change it ???? Why not just learn to ride it as the bike it was designed to be ???
Personally I've never seen a decent streetfighter, if you want a naked bike then go buy one it will do everything you want properly. The 3en1 will need all the above, and the air tubes will leave holes in the frame, you'll need something to hold the head light(s) onto the forks and also the clocks.
You might need to alter the suspension using a different grade oil in the forks as your weight will be further back on the bike and consider some more padding in the saddle too.
However .... when you ride the bike bend your arms and tuck your elbows in a little and lower your chin. The balls of your feet, not the middle should be on the pegs. If you ride like this you'll take the weight off your wrists and not be so stiff, which will be more comfortable for you.

Cheers Guys, I did have a faint idea of what I needed to do but as I said lacked the technical know how. I do love sports bikes but I am far to over on the bike & have tried for a year to get used to it..I had toyed with buying an ER650N or a JX6OON but money is tight these days & there is no satisfaction in buying something ready made. I suffer from a bad back & have been told if it gets worse I will need an op, so dont want to make it worse. Too many years of falling off the back of others bikes, hence I sat my test lol, Thanks again & if anyone else has pics or ideas I'd love to see & hear them x
