NC30 update...
After getting my NC30 last Saturday and riding it back about 50 miles or so to my house i have had the chance to have a further, much closer look at it and here is what's happened so far:
I took a day off work yesterday to give it a proper going over and change the oil and filter, top up rear brake fluid and change what was in the front reservoir because it was really discoloured. I took the front brake calipers off the mounts and realized that the pads in the left caliper had hardly any meat left on them, so bought a new set that day and fitted them, the back ones are ok. Taking the fairing, i realized that much of the underside is in pretty crap condition; cable tied on and some bolts are either missing or just rusted or have mashed up heads, so i'll be ordering a pro-bolt stainless kit for it along with a whole new set of panels to get it looking really nice and clean. All this work was done at a friend's house and just as i was about to leave i was looking at the back sprocket and saw that the clean metal around the teeth wasn't actually where the chain was riding it as normal, but instead there is too much play in the chain and it is able to move sideways on the sprocket slightly - so i'll need to get a new set of sprockets and chain. Then when i got home i noticed the front right brake disc has a hairline crack in it. So ill be replacing that obviously.
The bike is otherwise sound but over the last few dasy rally getting to look at ive discovered so many little things that need attention! I can't wait for it to be pristine again becasue at the moment i think it's a wise idea to keep it in the garage.... I'm glad it's mechanically good...but it's going to bleed my bank account over the next month or so - but it will be quality when i've sorted all the problems. Anyone else have the same experience as me when they just bought theirs? And can anyone make recommendations as to where i can source a high-quality chain and sprocket kit, all the same make etc, and new front brake discs? I'm toying with the idea of seeing if i can get the brake discs from a breakers...but not too sure.

I'm sure you'll have it up and running like new in no time! :)
Thats probably one of the only downfalls of the 400 (besides the crap reg/rec) is that there popular as a first 'big bike' so are seldom kept long unless its by an enthusiast which leads to crap maintainiance and neglect :/
