nc30 hub rear hub removal
ok have just put the bike up on my abba stand and removed the rear wheel, come to remove the nut over the sprocket and f~?k me is it tight. i have lifted up the little tab as it says in the haynes manual but i cannot get it to budge have now covered it wd40 and will leave over night but is there any tricks to removing it? will try to find a fat mate to sit on the bike whilst i try again but is there something im missing in the process?
all threads look ok nothing crossed etc could just be tight from time but if there is anything i am missing would be really grateful

You'll just need a breaker bar for greater leverage.

Re: nc30 hub rear hub removal
that one is usually mad tight allright, but the other one is even tighter to remove the hub!!
you need to get more leverage. when i was looking to gain leverage i found a pair of garden shears had hollow handles and put them over the end of the short breaker bar.
its worth a dry looking around and seeing if you have some hollow things around the garage

To undo the Larger nuts on my NC30 Bike, and the HUB nut in particular, i used a 4 foot hollow piece of box section which is actually used as a towing link when your car breaks down. LOL Comes in very handy on those tuff nuts!

Re: nc30 hub rear hub removal
theres no reverse thread on this nut or anything?
will have a look for a extension of some sort later. the project is coming on - our second kiddy was born last friday so very little has been done since then or the bike or anything else to be honest! i am managing to grab an hour roughly each night now but not enough to get huge amounts done.
she is now only 7 days old but already costing me a fortune -
