tacho fault

Post by mogster »

I'm in the middle of a 400/600 hybrid . i started the engine today and the bike seems to have developed a tacho problem . when it starts the tacho reads zero then 2000 then 8000 then back to zero and then continues on this sequence . I 'm sure i read some where this is a fault code but i can't remember what it is for . This has all started since i put the body work and tank back on.

This fault gave me a headache for months until i finally sussed it. Its caused by the fuel sender. The fault code is activated when the fuel level is low or if the sender is faulty or disconnected. Have you wired the fuel sender circuit into the 400 loom?
