RVF400 gear change issue
I have this bike for almost 8 years and as long as i can remember i've been facing the following problem mostly in the winter time...
The problem: When i start the bike in the morning (while the engine is still cold) changin gear from 1st to 2nd is like having to lift a 30 pound rock with your left foot (Not to mention that neutral at this period is almost impossible to change).
After a few miles (while the engine now is warm) the gear change is a lot smoother than when i started the bike.
Any help is welcome and most appreciated.
Warm regards
Alex

Re: RVF400 gear change issue
Firstly, welcome to the forum. My first suggestion would be to adjust the little spiggot at the end of the lever adjustment rod. Mine is at about 11 o'clock and it works well for me there on clutchless up-shifts.

Ducati 916, not worth a carrott

You've got a point there ....sorry for rushing in like this.
What you suggested is something that i haven't tried yet, but i still don't understand why the gear change is smoother when the engine is warm...
