Temp Sensor Sender Voltages

Post by dx400r »

Hi Folks,

Anyone know the range of voltages to degrees c ratio the temp sensor puts out? Or just the voltage ranges on their own.

Bit of an odd question but all shall be revealed soon :D

Thanks in advance,

from the service manual

Thermo Sensor resistance
60 deg C = 130-180 ohms
80 deg C = 45 - 60 ohms
120 deg C = 10-20 ohms

Hows that?

Its resistance changes not voltage so make sure you have the meter set to ohms :)

Its not a meter as such I want to interface to it. Im trying to get a sensor board in series with the circuit so I can get a Computer to read the temp :)

If your after putting a a/d converter on it as well as the standard gauge then youll need voltage readings as the output(of the sender) will be pulled up to a higher potential by the temp gauge, best way would be to stick a multimeter on the output of the sender at differant engine temps with the ignition switched on.
