NC30 Reg/Rec
Hi
Another reg/rec problem again.
Went out for a long blast on the NC30 last week, the next day the battery was dead!!!!
It was starting to feel sluggish half way....
Had a battery problem since I bought it 4 years ago prob had 5/6 batteries.
Currently has a R6 reg which doesn't fit flush to the tyga subframe.
Im guessing Ill need a new NC30 reg this time but does the eletrolux one fit flush to a tyga frame?
Also how do I tell if the generator is f**k** (on my 2nd engine)?
Cheers
Anthony

Re: NC30 Reg/Rec
I'd fitted one similar to the one Rick Oliver sells when I had a Tyga sub-frame fitted. Didn't have a problem with it. (the one pictured was the standard one that shit itself and was soon replaced)

Re: NC30 Reg/Rec
Hong Kong ones are a waste of £20, they fail almost as quick as their cdi units.
The Electrex ones are designed to fit where the original oem one did so if you can fit a honda one onto the tyga then you'll be able to fit one of theirs.
To test the altenator measure the ohms of the 3 yellow wires.. should be between 0.1-1 ohm or not far apart, then with the bike at 5000rpm you should have 50v AC from each leg, so make sure your meter is on AC AND your not holding the terminals, dont' want a shock!

It sounds more like your alternator is causing all these problems.

Re: NC30 Reg/Rec
as neo says test the voltage output of the alternator.i tend to stick with this method because the ohms test showed up good results with mine even though the alternator was goosed.
