NC30 Sheared engine mount bolt... Advice?

Looking for a bit of advice again guys... Finally got round to dropping the engine out of the bike today (NC30) and things were going well until I loosened the top left(as you sit on it) engine mount bolt. Thought the bolt was shifting then it sheared!!

Not too much of a problem tho I thought... Simply drill into it which I did and then screw in a stud extractor from the shiny set I got for Xmas... Again just when you think you've got it sorted the F***i*g stud extractor snaps in the hole! I've been through half a dozen drill bits and nothing is looking at drilling the stud extractor. Any advice on drill bits to look at this stuff or is it a job for an engineers workshop?

Had to walk away from it tonight... maybe a fresh set of eyes in the morning will help but any thoughts would be good...

Also while I'm on what size socket are the spark plugs? Had a 10mm socket another bike but didn't seem to fit? Is it a honda only item or will the right off the shelf plug key do the job?

P.S. the one thing I did learn today is that Silverline Stud extractors are crap.... but very very hard to drill!

Have you got access to gas welding gear.If so use a welding lamp to heat the extractor intil red,
do not direct it at the lug,work it slowly,then let it cool down,you will then need a cobolt drill bit
And your drill set to slow speed,If you don't have the heat you can just try the drill.
silverline stuff is SHITE.

Not got gas welding kit but I do have a plumbers propane torch... do you think that would be hot enough? I assume the heating and slow cooling is to take the strength out of the hardened bit?

Plumers lamp will not get it hot enough,and yes to take the hardness out.

Cheers for the advice Hunter... Got a set of Cobalt drills but they wouldn't look at the broken stud extractor... Couldn't get heat to the bit either so had to resort to cutting the mount which gave enough access to broken bolt to get the mole grips to it... End result is the broken bolt is out and have just over half the mount left with thread intact so will simply cut an alloy shim to replace whats been cut off the mount. Not an ideal solution but a semi successful one! Cheers

Believe me it came close...very close! Everything was going far too smoothly!

Now in about the valve clearances and looks like at least 4 shims will need replacing 3 out 8 exhaust valve clearances sitting at 0.30mm and one inlet at .18 with another on the limit at .17mm Need to pick up a micrometer tomorrow tho as the one I aquired a while back turned out to be in inches which confused things briefly this evening
