another rev counter problem

Post by mo haggs »

ok, so i bought a shift light of r.o. and fitted it to the bike and programed it as detailed in the instruction sheet that came with it.

if you want it to light up at 10,000rpm you hold the revs at 5,000rpm and press the program button for less than 1 second.

i want mine to light up at 15,000rpm so i held the revs at 7,500rpm and pushed the button job done..........not quite. :(
when i took the bike for a run it didn't light up at all, so i held the revs at 7,000rpm and pushed the button.
on the second run it lit up somewhere between 12,000rpm + 13,000rpm :x

culd it be that the rev counter is out of calabration? any suggestions?

maybe the rev counter doesn't support lighting up at 15,000 rpm? i'd get in touch with Rick, see what he has to say.

the light takes a reading of the coil (like a scitsu rev counter) so its indipendent of the rev counter
