speedo not working
Hello,
my name is mike and im new to the forum. Just bought a 1990 GSXR 400 GK76A And its immaculate and rapid! Good learner bike untill i upgrade to a 600 next year.
Only thing that is wrong is that the speedo is not working... i have changed the speedo cable but it still don't work.. does anyone know what could be wrong with it?

Have you checked the speedo cable?
It might have worn out.

i have put a brand new cable in and its still not working.... any ideas?

Doesn't leave many options really I guess, broken speedo drive or broken speedo.

I am just going through the same problem, put a new cable in and wont work. When I took the speedo assemply out of the clocks bracket and took off the assembley where the speedo cable attaches to, the problem will be obvious. The plastic speedo drive gear was worn and was not contacting and not turning the speedo.
Havent priced a genuine one, but opefully wont be too scarey! was only $35NZ for the genuine speedo cable, so thats about 10-15 quid.
