Rev s getting stuck!
Hey guys , would anyone know how to fix this small problem on my 3tj. The bike starts great and warms up with no probs but after about say 10 mins of riding and coming to a stop (de-accelerating) the revs get stuck on about 2000 - 2300rpm pretty much everytime. So the trick to get the revs back down again is that I have to keep it in gear and let out the clutch till it is engaged then pull back in thus bringing down the rev s to the normal idie of around 1200rpm. What is that a sign of ? air/vaccum leak? could it be in need of carb balancing? coz it runs smooth through the rev range.

check the idle screw? make sure cable is returning properly by lubing the throttle cables? might be that simple, then again maybe it wont!

Don't lube the cables !!!!
Modern cables are teflon coated and swell with oil. But check the throttle's closing take the carbs off and make sure the butterflies are ok and the idle jets are clean.
Fast running can be lean mixture so to check the rubbers warm the bike and spray carb cleaner around the rubber - listen for a change in revs
Check the airbox is on properly

had already checked cables and throttle and they are working perfect. Spraying carb cleaner on the rubbers sounds like a good idea i will try that and double check the butterflies. Just checking it is 3 1/2 turns out on the 3tj air/fuel mixture?

defo check carb rubbers, ive had a few like that. seems to be a common fault, and finding decent replacements is hard work!
