Re: Pick up cover
Sliders are meant to flutter - no problem there.
I would advise you put the airbox on and try it again. Sounds very like the problem I still have.
With the air box on, if it doesn't start, try and squirt a LITTLE bit of easy start sype stuff into the intake and see if it then fires on that.
My carbs have been messed with by a previous owner and have non standard jets in them, I'm sure this is the problem however finding standard ones is a headache.

Re: Pick up cover
This is the third set of carbs i tried and rebuilt two of them, now thinking its not the carbs but the only other thing i changed is the pickup cover, so on the look out for a jap import being broken.

Re: Pick up cover
Cheers for the offer Mike - but I've got rid.
I had an offer for it that I couldn't refuse. I wanted to get on with fixing up my old LC, so put the word around about the selling bandit, I had 3 bikes and only room for 2, it started getting silly juggling them all around.
I'm still keeping my eye out around here as I've learned a hell of a lot about this bike in the last few months and may be able to help others out.
