NC24 camshaft and valve head torques

Post by alpinestarhero »

Hi guys! So my dad has been going leaps and bounds with getting the VFR400 NC24 back in working condition, since I found out from the nice people on here that NC30 head gaskets fit (and they fit a treat). All that remains (after cleaning up all the valves) is to put the engine back together. Does anyone have the torque settings for securing the cams and securing the heads of the engines to the main block? We don't have any workshop manual, all we have is my dads 35+ years of experiance as a car mechanic, the internet and my account on this fantastic forum

Flattery getting me anywhere?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Have a look at your frame number. (it's stamped on the steering head where the yokes go thru)

NC24-1000010 - 1017050 (RH) [1987]
NC24-1009051 - 1016630 (RH-II) [1987]
NC24-1020011 - 1032667 (RJ-III) [1988]
