nc30 rev counter over reading
when i start the bike it shows 10k on choke. i know it is not reving hat fast though... it goes past the red at about 5-6000 and as the bike continues to rev th counter stays at 16000...
it was ok before it was parked for a week or two and nothing has changed...
hope it is an easy fix....

Re: nc30 rev counter over reading
check all earth connections and clean them with fine emery paper, then smear a thin layer of vaseline on after tightning them up. That will most likely cure it. Other than that, it can be a faulty rev counter (obviously), ignition box (it sends the signal to the rev counter) or the old problem with the reg/rec (charging relay), when it goes pop it sometimes sends high voltage spikes into components leading to erratic readings.

Re: nc30 rev counter over reading
the reg/rec seems ok as the charge rate is ok between 13.5-14.5volts. the only earths i can find are clean and good contacts. i have cleaned the multiplugs at the cdi and used a little contact spray n them. how will i be able to test the rev counter? im not sure it would go faulty as it has as it was working normal before....
any one else have ideas????
