New fairings

Post by Freetime Foster »

In need of replacing my import '93 nc30 fairings.
I fancy something different, what sort of work would need to go into fitting 03 cbrr 600 fairings?
Are there any other bikes fairings that will fit well without to much work needed.

600rr fairings 03/04 will fit a nc30 but takes a lot of work. it is not a simple bolt on job, the rear subframe needs major modifaction to accept the rear end. the top fairing is a lot higher than standard and needs brackets contructing, the side fairings fit fairly well be again mods required for choke lever etc.

if you want an idea see my post, search for:

nc30 - fireblade

has been nearly a month since i touched her but bank holiday monday i have booked a day in the garage!! if you wanted any extra pictures let me know

well tyga do an rc211v kit which makes it looks like a mini moto gp bike but cost and not to everyone's taste

they also do rc45 tail style units endurance style nose's (which look great IMO) and a nose called spark which looks like an rvf kindof but with different lights

k conversions do a cheep knock off of the tyga rc kit but i havnt heard good things about the quality

you can fit an rvf fairings and tail if you get the fairing and clock stay and bolts for the tail

and a honda rs250 tila unit goes on easily and looks great imo (bit bias as that what my race fairings are)

There are lots of options it all depends on who much work you are willing to/capable of doing. Personally I use a Tyga suzuka nose cone (direct fit as are the spark units) and a Mito evo tail/subframe combination but these do involve a reasonable amount of work to fit. I believe that there is a mito/nc seat conversion finishing on ebay today if you are quick.

Theres mine

it is quite a bit of work to make the 600rr fairings fit, problem i have found is there is no instructions / have found no -one who have done this and posted how to do it. so does take some latteral thinking at times. i did speak to a chap in oz who fitted a gsxr k5 rear fairing i think it was to a cbr 400 to get a bit of info from him, he has some pictures on bikepics.com, i understand where your coming from with the riding more than anything else!! thankfully the vfr is my project bike so i have my blade for all of the good weather!

with a bit of hard work you can make pretty much anything fit, just depends how much you want it!
