crash bungs for NC24

Post by in4thethrills »

Hey all,
I've been looking for some crash bungs for my nc24, and have had no luck. tried all the big names but they only do it for the NC29, 30, and 35.

any ideas... is it possible to get them for the nc24?

cheers

The actual bungs are the same for any bike. What is different is the bolt and the spacer.Decide where you are going to mount the things and then find a bolt of the correct length and thread[there are plenty of places doing stainless bolts]and get an engineering shop to make up a spacer of a suitable inner and outer diameter and length.

Stainless bolts that's a no no,they tend to snap rather than bend. If you know what size parts are needed http://www.moore-speed-racing.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; can get r&g to make up a one off kit. They did for my mates speed four.

I think the best bet is maybe give R+G a ring.

However the only way to attatch crash bungs to a 24 is with drilled fairings, as the engine mount bolt is covered by said fairings. This may not bother you of course but i didn't have the heart to take a drill to my old 24's fairings :scare:

I once saw an nc24 where the chap had bolted a steel bar between two engine mounts and then bolted his crash bungs to that so he did not have to drill his fairing.

Don't have this bike anymore but...

The only visible bolt is the one in the middle of 'castrol' So they must be mounted there somehow....Though from memory i don't think there was much space there....

I did not take a picture and it was years ago.His metal bar went from the front to the rear engine mounting bolts and the crash bungs protruded through the slot in the fairing
