Re: H4 Headlights on a 3TJ
Chris does this ebaying almost as a business and he's quite defensive. I've fallen out with him for muscling in on "his" territory (on the fzr1000 forum) because I've done a bit of breaking too in the past and I sell cheaper than Chris. Having said that he has done a few favours in the past for me so I can't complain. He tends to bid on a lot of stuff with his other ebay name "yzfzr" on the basis of getting it cheap with few other bidders. Then he'll either sell it on or refurb (especially exup exhausts) and sell on through "creedxup". He may have bought this with bulbs in or 1 bulb working and kept the bulbs for his spares.
I have bought 2 exups with the projector lights on but they may have been upgrades by a previous owner. I sold one myself a couple of years ago (with bulbs) for £80.
I have seen something in the past about using these with HID lamps but it's a long time ago and I can't remember.
So what have you currently got fitted to your 3TJ? If it's the same then I can se this is no good to you but if not then just get some bulbs and give it a go. They are good.. it's just the bulb cost that gets me.

Mine are the same as these but without the scratched glass so ... surplus to requirements.
The only thing would be to fit HIDs to my originals then sell the bulbs and these. I could shift them through the Bimota Enthusiasts as the Bims use a European Exup RU headlight.
At the moment it's filed under experience.

Re: H4 Headlights on a 3TJ
The bulbs on a 3TJ are only used on Yamaha's they're not a common bulb so you won't be able to simply plug them in.
If you really want HIDs your best bet is to get a similar shape headlight from a TRX850 / FZR600 / or FZR1000 RU ... they don't use the pretty paralever lamps, but you will be able to fit a standard bulb which you can then convert to HID.

What are the bulbs actually called?
I'm sure a kit exits somewhere
