Is this the first time you've ridden them since you've messed with the carbs?
Sounds like somethings not back together quite right, maybe one of your sliders is sticking?

Re: wont rev past 8-10k
and while they are off maybe look at setting the A/F screws to 2.25-2.5 turns
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Re: wont rev past 8-10k
ok took airbox off and pushed the slide up and there not jaming or anything so i assume there ok
im going up to smevs to borrow a standard filter to see if it is the foam filter that is at fault, gona take extra shim out tonight so the bike is totally standard as to what it was before the rebuild so when i will know if its the filter or not, then gona play with shims and different slides to find the optimum
tbh im pritty sure it will be the filter, if it is il keep it out so the bikes running good and when i get a system and can afford some dyno time put it back in and get them to set it all up
whats the theory behind the af screws again mate?

Re: wont rev past 8-10k
Your main jet sizes are too small for the filter.
Forget mucking around with anything else on the carbs, just get the mains right.
128's all round would be a good safe starting point with the foam filter.
What size jets are you currently using?
