Exhuast hole

I noticed today in the garage when I fired her up (Now working touch wood!) that there is a small hole in the end can near the bottom underneath. Must be about 1/2cm diameter enough to notice smoke coming out when first started. Will this badly effect idle/running?

On a std can?

That is a drain hole mate...perfectly normal
