Dirty wheels

Post by nc21man »

Anybody got any ideas on how to get caked on chain lube off of a rear wheel? I've tried the usual soap and water and also covered it with WD40 but I'm not really making a dent in it. Any suggestions - however bizarre - would be much appreciated as it's doing my head in and making my white wheels look cack. :!:

brush some diesel fuel in, and wash it off. diesel shifts just about most oily grime marks, and leaves its own film which is far easier to remove. or use parafin (parasine now its called in B&Q)

You might laugh but Cillit Bang is good for it as well. I've always used the orange top one.

i wouldnt touch diesel, it rots rubber and if you get it on your brakes it'll taker a while to get it off, plus your brakes wont work. I used to use panel wipe on my gsxr wheels, ive known people to use mr muscle or fuchs off or something simliar

I heard you can get "anti spit" lube??

DONT WASTE MONEY ON MUC OFF ITS CRAP. I got myself a bottle for £12 and used half of it on two wheels...
