kawasaki clutches do rattle, and camchain tensioners are rubbish.. i know little about gpx600's except that i wouldnt be looking at buying one. Heavy, underpowered and badly suspended with rubbish brakes.. if thats what you want get a gt550, more of the same without the plastic and with the bonus of shaft drive :) (and they really do go on for ever !)
but then everything is relative .. how cheap is cheap ?

They always sound like a bag of nails at tickover - very lumpy like big bits of metal are whizzing around not quite as intended. The primary chain connects the crankshaft to the clutch and it can get sloppy at high mileages. The noise should settle down when on the move. If it does, it'll be okay. If it doesn't then there are issues and you don't want to be replacing a primary chain on one of these (speaking from experience).cbr_400 wrote:walk away or small job?????
I always thought the GPZ600 looked a much nicer bike. I had a GPX750 for a while and that was much more fun than the 600. It should be very cheap.
