im looking to paint my calipers and want to know if its an easy job to split them to get do a decent job?

Very easy...putting them back together is not too much of a ballache either..

+1 on that one . . . just try not to get paint on any on the machined faces . . . and dont lose the two seals from between them (two per calliper) my local honda man tried to charge me £3.20+vat each and wait three days for em to turn up . . . stuff that i put the old ones back in :-P

Hi, maybe best to unnip the caliper half bolts while there on the bike, you may as well clean the seal rings out, and give the pistons a good clean as well while youve got them in bits.

is powdercoating them a bad idea? also what size torx socket do i need?

Depends...

I personally think it is naff...and would rather clean the calipers up to standard condition (if gold ones)

If I had black ones..I would let them be black.,

im undecided on colour they are just in awful condition. looks like the previous owner has sprayed them in the past but they are looking tired. im tempted to get them powder coated when i get my swingarm done
