Wheel from 3" to 4 or 4.5"
Anyone who knows if a newer gsx-r 400 than my gk 71f has a rear rim that´s wider than mine 3.0 inch? I need a 4 or 4.5 inch wide, that is easy to fit on my bike. :D

Hi,
Not sure about the bearing size but early 73's are 18x4, Bandit are 17x4 and late 73' and 76's are 17x4.5.

Thanks for the answer! Does those wheels fit directly (except for the bearings) into the swing arm on my gk 71f? In other words, how wide are the swingarms on gk 73, bandit and gk 76? Mine is about 220 mm (8" 2/3, I think...). I'm only interested in the 17 inch wheels.Variablevalves suck wrote:Hi,

Can measure you a 17" gk73 tomorrow, but you'd be safer with the GSF4 rear at 4" and run a 150 rear tyre. Ive got a 71B frame and an RGV swingarm i have ia narrower by about 10mm and has a 20mm pivot up against the 16mm standard.

Hi! It would be very nice if you could measure the swingarm on the gk73. It would really help me :)

Jay, will the 750 go straight in and i had a 750 slab and think it was 18 wheel.
Measurements for the 17" gk73 are- using a tapemeasure.
swingarm at frame 220mm 20mm hole a 71B frame ive got is 227mm and 16mm hole,
width at wheel end is 222mm 22mm axle,
caliper is 28mm wide,
spacer 16mm wide,
from face of disc to swingarm is 33mm
wheel from disc to piont that the carrier meets wheel is 128mm
carrier, part you see not including peice inside wheel is 60mm
spacer 10mm, 5mm that you can see and 5mm inside the oil seal
and fron the face of the sproket to the swingarm is 15mm.
Hope some of this will help. Id still go with the 3" wheel as you can run 110 up front and the tyres will be matched.

Re: Wheel from 3" to 4 or 4.5"
It might be a katana wheel just look for the old one that is 5.0 width they use them on gs 500's all the time i mounted one to my fz600 back in the day the bearing size is the same and the wheel has tons of room to mill the rotor carrier down if need be as well as the sprocket carrier is beefy so it can also be milled down to suit chain alignment
