Re: UK spec bandit 400 ignition coil wiring
Just tried it out on the road - it didn't want to play until the motor warmed up a bit, but then WOW is a 400 supposed to be this quick? Feels quicker than my litre superfour!
Do these motors not pull much over 6k until they warm up or am I taking the choke off to soon?
Just rambling thoughts, I need to do some more tinkering (and tax it) before taking it for a proper run.
Cheers for the advise along the way. I'm 99% of the way to being a happy bunny :D

They don't warm up very quickly.

Re: UK spec bandit 400 ignition coil wiring
Has anybody got any pics of this mod? Sorry for being a pain in the ass but i want to be sure before i `butcher`anything!!Variablevalves suck wrote:Been away and sat in a dark room and had a think! Im sure the 7th wire is the green/yellow from the gear selector to the cdi, to make the jap cdi work you will have to trick it into thinking it is in 2nd gear, this will derestrict it at the same time! you have to go to maplins and get a standard 1.5k ohm resistor this is connected to the 7th plug on the cdi, use a peice of wire the same thickness as the loom and spade terminal it to the cdi then use a bullit connector with the resistor in on the oter end, then using another piece of wire and bullet connector take the other end of the resistor to earth. use a washer type terminal on this end. This is the method used to derestrict any jap Suzuki and should allow you to use the jap cdi. :D
Thank`s
Andy

Hi Andy,
There is loads of info at 'banditalley' . I posted pictures etc and you dont need to butcher anything as the derestrictor wire just plugs in.
