Re: nc24 rear axle removal please help i'm going nuts!!

there was a small post on it recently.
2 there is a wire c shaped spring clip on the axle, chrome to, that holds the axle in the hub, that should help firstly.
3 uce a peice of metal plate or paint scraper to lever apart the twqo bolt clamp on the end of the swingarm, after removing the bolts, to release the hub on axle as a unit.
then you should be able to replace the bearings ect !

I had the same problem,
Take the rear sprocket and carrier off, under this will be a washer, remove that, under that there will be a shaped spacer, this should just slide off, when you have that off look at the shaft just above the bearing (mine was covered in grease and very very hard to see) but there will be a small wire clip, if you use a small screwdriver you will find the end to it and pop it out. After that the shaft just slides out.

Part numbers 24 (small circlip) and 7 (collar) in picture above.christ044 wrote:I had the same problem,

The user 'carcass' had the same problem last year.. it must not be very obvious from that parts book picture?
Anyway, for anyone else reading this in future reference.

Thats the picture carcass took of the shaft after removing the cushdrive unit.
You can see part number 7 (collar) from the picture I posted above on the middle of the shaft.. slide this off the shaft and part number 24 (small circlip) is undeneath.
Like christ044 says, its prob greased over, hard to see, but a small screwdriver will get it off, then providing you've taken the rear brake caliper off / moved it out the way, the shaft will slide out of the hub.

I was quite shocked when i saw how small the circlip was.
