NC23 Carb problem....????
Hi there! just about got my bike on the road, only problem is that when ever i give it a rev its gergals i looked at the intake pipes and found they go into spassem mode.looking down the intake ate black things i guess to control the amount of air gettin in well they just bounce open and closed.... sorry not good with carbs....
but it clears. but when running it up the road it hesitates loads but clears..
Do you think its just the carbs out or more serious? as i am getting them balanced in the next week or so!
Many thanks!
Dave

Give them a strip down & clean before the balance.

Re: NC23 Carb problem....????
i have cleaned them out recently because the bike was sitting around for ages before i bought her. then wouldn't start so i took them off and flushed out the floats. looked at the jets but didn't have a clue what i was really looking at. my knollege is very poor when it comes to carbs! Shame cos i think there GREAT!

Re: NC23 Carb problem....????
sounds like the same prob as mine had. give em a good clean with thinners but make sure you blow it all out. unscew both the jets and blow em out ( i used a compressor ) and pull a strand off a wire brush to clean em out with as well. check the diapragms have no holes in em but make sure when you put the top back on em that the little hole lines up. (you will see what i mean) also lift the slides in the body with a screw driver or something when the carbs are reassembled and they should return with a second in a dampered sort of motion. then balance em, the screws for the pipes are on the inlet under the carbs.mine didnt look out much but they must have been. hope that helps :D

Re: NC23 Carb problem....????
Right, just got my bike back from the garage, they cleaned the carbs out and balanced then up.
Now its running so much better but the guys at the garage said there are some "air screws" missing so its a lil lumpy on idle and a couple of spots up the rev's where its hesatent.
Any1 know where the air screws are on the carb and maybe where i could get some from!?
I was thinking about maybe "Greame Frence" might have some but don't really know much about him to contact him....
Any help would be much apreciated!
Thanks!
